A God of War TV series may be coming to Prime Video

God of War, Sony’s popular saga of divinity and fatherhood, could soon hit the small screen. Report from Deadline says Amazon is in talks with Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions to bring the show to Prime Video.

According to the report, the series is being adapted by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, creators. And executive producers of The Expanse, and Wheel of Time executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins.

At the moment, there are no further details about the show, such as casting or a possible release date, but if the report is correct, God of War will be the third Sony game series remastered for TV. Twisted Metal, starring Marvel hero Anthony Mackie, is being filmed for Peacock, while The Last of Us is being developed for broadcast on HBO.

It’s a bit odd given how bad video game-based movies have been. But gaming TV is really picking up steam lately. Along with the Sony stuff above, Halo, Resident Evil, League of Legends. And Knuckles (yes, Knuckles) everyone either has or gets their own series, and Destiny might be in line for one too. And, of course, there’s the one that launched the game. Even if it’s technically based on the books. The Witcher, which recently began production on Season 3 for Netflix.
