A Surprisingly Big Day For Pokemon News: What You Should Know

Exactly 26 years have passed since the first Pokemon games were released in Japan and the developers of the series lived up to the hype around International Pokémon Day this year with a ton of updates to current games and one big surprise: new mainline entries. Pokémon Scarlet and Violetta Coming to Nintendo Switch at the end of 2022. When the latest Pokémon Presents live stream was announced just a couple of days ago, fans assumed that there may be news about future DLC for Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Instead, we got much, much more.

Here’s a rundown of everything that was announced and what wasn’t:

That mobile game will see his Pokédex expanded with Gen 7 add-ons from Sun as well as moon. These include starters such as Rowlet, Litten, Popplio, and nearly 80 others.

That gacha game will receive a new boss battle mode in which you can fight against trainers on the Victory Road back to back. Several new sync pairs will also be added next month, including May, Latias, Skyla, and Tornadus.

That puzzle game will now allow Pelipper to deliver your drinks and meals to distant Pokémon, including the Mythical Pokémon Victini. It will also be a way to collect new outfits and unlock hidden abilities to help you overcome challenges.

Pokemon unite gets the regime of lawlessness.

A new quick combat type will allow players to fight without reloading, making the MOBA even more chaotic. The Mythical Pokémon Hoopa will also appear in the game and can be earned by playing alongside Duraludon in the future.

Pokémon Diamond Diamond, as well as shining pearl, finally get Shaymin

The mythical grass type lives on a special island, which you can only get to after receiving a special letter from Professor Oak. This event is now officially in the game. Of course, a lot of players made a mistake at the beginning shortly after the game’s release last November.

The “free” version 1.1 patch focuses on investigating mass outbreaks and looks set to add new trainer battles. Players can also receive 30 free Ultra, Gigaton, and Jet balls when using the cryptic code “ARCEUSADVENTURE” until March 31st.

It doesn’t have a title yet, but the Pokémon Company has been teasing a new online series centered around the Hisui region, with concept art depicting a trainer trudging through a snowy forest.

Pokemon Scarlet, as well as Violetta, are the next games in the series.

Pokémon gifts have ended, giving us our first look at Gen 9, including Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly starters. The new games will be open world and should be released on the Nintendo Switch before the end of the year.

We still haven’t heard anything about Pokémon Sleep.

Teased back in 2019, Pokémon Sleep The app was supposed to track your sleep and connect it to Pokemon Go. It sounded extremely creepy, and almost three years later, we still don’t know anything about how it works. Maybe the Pokémon Company doesn’t have rand either, so it quietly moved on.

And that’s all we’ve heard about in today’s Pokémon Presents. A really busy time for Pokémon. Despite all the news we’ve received, fans are still waiting for big content updates for Arceus as well as BDSP. The players got into hidden areas in the former and the players of the latter are still pending completion of Global Wonder Station. In the meantime, I’m sure Pokemon fans can find a lot of interesting things in Scarlet as well as Violetta’s trailer.
