Battlefield 2042’s Long-Requested Scoreboard Update Is Getting Delayed
DICE has delayed the next major update to Battlefield 2042, which includes an all-new scoreboard, until next week. IN forum post, DICE has announced that patch 3.3 (which was previously scheduled to be released this week) has now been delayed to ensure the team is “the best to support in case of any issues that might come up over the weekend.”
Due to this, DICE has stated that the already suspended weekly missions of Battlefield 2042 will be suspended for this week. Update 3.3, coming out next week, will bring them back.
As of Update 3.3 for Battlefield 2042, it includes the “updated” scoreboard UI that fans had been asking for since launch last year. The new scoreboard will show both deaths and kills, as well as a snapshot of how each team is performing, and in particular, the points leaders on each side.
“Thank you for your feedback and suggestions on this. We all really appreciate it,” DICE said.
The lack of a detailed scoreboard at launch in 2021 was one of the biggest criticisms of Battlefield 2042 from fans. Players have been scratching their heads as to why such a scoreboard was not included when it was in previous games.
In addition, Battlefield 2042 Update 3.3 will introduce the Steadfast Exclusive Legendary Bundle as a free reward for those who purchased one of the game’s more expensive editions to make up for the delay in the first season.
Patch 3.3 also includes “a small set of additional fixes,” and these and more will be released next week when the full patch notes are released.
Battlefield 2042 fell short of EA’s sales expectations but still ended 2021 as the fifth best-selling game in the US. EA management believes that the game will be successful in the long run.
