Call of Duty: Warzone Is Officially Coming to Mobile
AAA mobile
Activision is developing an all-new AAA mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone. IN a blog post on the Call of Duty website, the company called on developers to join its internal team to create a mobile version of Warzone from the ground up. Since the game is not just a port, and Activision is still hiring developers to create it. Warzone for mobile is likely not coming out anytime soon. However, when it does arrive, Activision promises it will “deliver compelling. Fluid, and large-scale Call of Duty: Warzone action to players on the go.”
“This epic battle royale is built from the ground up for mobile devices with cutting-edge technology designed to keep gamers around the world entertained for years to come.”
It should not be confused with Call of Duty. Mobile, another Activision Call of Duty mobile game inspired by Blackout’s first battle royale mode. Warzone will be developed in-house by Activision’s studios compared to the current mobile game made by Chinese developer Tencent.
A sequel to Warzone was also announced last month. Set to release alongside the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but it was reportedly delayed until 2024 a few days later.
IGN gave Call of Duty: Warzone a beta of 7/10 when it was released in 2020. Saying it “remains delightful, even with major concessions to depth made in the name of instant gratification.”
