Critical Role’s seventh anniversary brings the show back to theatres

The tabletop cast of Critical Role will celebrate its seventh anniversary by bringing its campaign session to the big screen. The real troupe will play a session from the current third campaign and will be broadcast live to 55 theaters in the United States and three theaters in Brazil.

The group is made up of talented actors and led by dungeon master Matthew Mercer. The group includes Ashley Johnson, Marisha Rae, Taliesin Jaffe, Laura Bailey, Liam O’Brien, and Travis Willingham. The current campaign follows a group of Bell’s Hells adventurers traveling across the Marche continent.

Tickets start at $25, and some theaters offer a $40 ticket that includes a T-shirt. There will also be a series of online Critical Role events featuring the creations of fans of the series, affectionately known as the Critters. The show has grown rapidly in popularity since its launch, and a lot of original lore has been accumulated throughout Critical Role’s history. The group has completed two campaigns so far; The first campaign involved a group of adventurers called Vox Machina. Their story was adapted into an original Amazon animated series. The Legend of the Voice Machine.
