Crunchyroll May Have A Lot More Anime Each Season Going Forward
All Funimation content is moving to Crunchyroll, bringing together a huge number of anime under one subscription. While this won’t affect the current winter season, the upcoming spring season (which kicks off April 1st) will be “the biggest ever” for Crunchyroll.
Crunchyroll only sees these numbers rise or maintain after the 2022 spring season, and there appears to be no desire at this time to bring the number of seasonal debuts back to where they are now. The company is confident that fans can expect more anime from Crunchyroll with each season.
“Our spring season will be the biggest ever, and our combined team is working hard to ensure that Crunchyroll fans can continue to get quality anime deals every season,” a Crunchyroll spokesperson told GameSpot. “With every season, we can confidently say much more.”
The rep also told GameSpot that fans can expect “more localized dubbed content around the world” and added that the Crunchyroll dubbed anime “will get even better” in the future.
As for what this merger could mean for other Crunchyroll divisions such as Crunchyroll Originals and Crunchyroll Games, a spokesperson said: “[March 1st]. The announcement only strengthens Crunchyroll’s ability to better serve anime fans across our business units. We can’t share anything else just yet, but you can expect some very cool news from every division very soon.”
