Amazing woman from the 1990s and he catches up with a cliffhanger at the end of the first issue. Get your screaming emoji ready: Wonder Woman’s mother, the former queen of the Amazons, Lady Hippolyta, was [dramatic reverb] POISONED! What else is going on in the pages of our favorite comic book? We will tell you. Welcome to Monday Funnies, Polygon’s weekly list of books our comics editor liked last week. It’s part secular superhero pages, part recommended reading, part ‘look at this cool art’. There may be some spoilers. There may not be enough context. But there will be great comics. (And if you missed the latest issue, read this one.)
Start Amazon Trial is the collaboration of the teams behind the amazing woman, Wonder Girlas well as Nubia and the Amazonsso it’s also an opportunity to see Joel Jones draw Yara Flor and Esquecidas again, not to be missed.

I’ll always check out, and the vibe of their new “wild kids are actually vampires” is pretty sweet. Many words (including my own) have been spoken about how having a son expands the potential of the Superman stories, but less about what it does in storytelling for Lois Lane. So I’d just like to say that I really like a world where Lois Lane hears some screams from her teenage son’s bedroom and just kicks the door in with crocodiles and a fully loaded laser gun.
Another thing that I really like is that in the new Captain Carter series, the first thing that happens after she is freed from the ice is a war between Russia, the US and the UK over who will take her back to their country.

The second arc Naomione of the best superhero debuts in the last decade is finally back with a new season with an original creative team, which means new art by Jamal Campbell! The double spread, which uses one huge panel to illustrate the emotional distance between three family members, is something artists usually only feel comfortable within a more relaxed graphic novel, but not Jamal Campbell.
