Dead Space Remake Reportedly Pushed To 2023
Bad news for fans of EA’s classic space horror Dead Space: A new report claims the upcoming remake has been pushed back to 2023. EA Motive has spent more time making sure the final product is polished and still capable of scaring you. Or at least give you a reason to change them. According to VentureBeat reports that the game continues to impress the people inside, and EA Motive is aiming to release a remake that is on par with Capcom’s well-received Resident Evil remakes. It will take time to achieve this level of quality, hence the expected delay. We’ve reached out to EA for comment and will update this post as soon as we hear back.
If the release date delay is announced publicly, it can be done on today’s Dead Space Livestream. EA Motive says this new take on Dead Space will offer “an early look at the development and what goes into the game’s remake” and is scheduled for Friday, March 11, 2022, at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET time.
Originally developed by Visceral Games back in 2008, Dead Space was a big hit for EA and helped revive the horror genre in gaming. It was followed by two sequels and several spin-offs before the series went on hiatus until a remake was announced last year.
EA Motive, the same team behind Star Wars: Squadrons and the Battlefront II story campaign, is looking to bring the franchise to life with a remake that will run on the Frostbite engine. The Dead Space remake will also add “improvements to the gameplay while staying true to the original” to keep it available to both new and returning players.
