Elden Ring Dragon Communion alter locations

If you stumble upon an Elden Ring Dragon Communion altar,

You may be wondering what you should do with it. It’s also easy to lose sight of all the weird and wonderful locations or NPCs you find on your travels in the Inter-Earth, and it’s entirely possible to lose sight of something that might come in handy later. The Altars of the Sacrament of the Dragon are certainly mysterious, especially if you find them before you acquire the Dragon Heart of the Elden Ring. These altars are especially useful for sorcerers, as you can exchange hearts for Spells of the Old Ringbut only at night. Here’s what you need to know about the Elden Ring Dragon Communion Altars, including how to find them and where to get the corresponding Dragon Hearts.

Location of the Elden Ring Dragon Communion Altar

As far as we know, there are two places where you can find Dragon Sacrament Altars. You can check the screenshots below for maps of both locations. It should also be the night before you can interact with any of them.

The Church of the Sacrament of the Dragon is located on an island southwest of Limgrave. and will probably be the first one you encounter. You will need to go through the Coastal Cave dungeon and defeat the boss there to gain access to it. Just like to find Elden Ring Slumbering Wolf Hut, you need to look for another way out of the dungeon after you are done. This will take you to the island where you will find the Place of Grace and the church.

You can use Dragon Hearts to get the following spells:

  • Dragon Claw (Dragon Heart x1)
  • Dragon Fire (Dragon Heart x1)
  • Dragonmaw (Dragonheart x1)

Where to get dragon hearts in Elden Ring

Dragon hearts (unsurprisingly) drop from dragons. Here is the location of some of them to get you started. The screenshots above show their location on the map:

Flying Dragon Agil
This will most likely be the first dragon you encounter. He’s in the middle of a lake in Limgrave.

Rotting Exiques
This dragon patrols rather nimbly just north of the Cathedral of the Dragon Communion in southwest Calydus.

Shiny Dragon Smarag
This one is on a small island west of Rai Lukaria Academy, near Grace Academy’s Crystal Cave.

Shiny Adula Dragon
This dragon is located outside the Cathedral of Manus Celes in the southwest of Liurnia. You will encounter him during Ranni’s quest.
