Elden Ring Gets a Major Patch to Fix Issues, Add Quest Phases, and Drop a New NPC

Elden Ring has received a significant patch across all platforms that fix several bugs. Even adds new content (or possibly wraps up previously unfinished content). Developer FromSoftware said in patch notes that it added new phases to the NPC quest chains for Diallo’s, Nefeli Lux, Kenneth Hayt, and Gatekeeper Gastok and added new NPC summons to some boss fights. It’s unclear these quests are brand new or close quest lines for characters that have been completed before.

Encounter NPCs

Players may also encounter a new NPC, Jar-Bairn, a small living jar that is found perched a few steps north of Jarburg. Now there is a way to keep track of all these NPCs, as FromSoftware has added a much-requested feature to mark icons on the map when you encounter NPCs, making it easier to keep track of where they are all. This includes nomad merchants who now have their heroes on the map. The drops rate for Blacksmith Stones has been increased, and upgrade materials have been added to some shops. It will now be easier for players to upgrade their weapons at the start of the game.

Several in-game items, weapons, and sorceries have been made more efficient and accessible with two dozen specific bugs and general performance improvements.
