Elden Ring: Millicent Quest Guide

Questlines in Elden Ring can be quite confusing, so there’s no shame in feeling a little lost on how to proceed from time to time. This guide will take you through all the steps required to reach the end of Millicent’s long and winding quest, which will eventually lead to an important item that you may want to have on hand towards the end of the game.

Find and talk to Gauri.

To start the Millicent questline, you first need to talk to an old man named Gauri, who hangs out in a shack in eastern Caelida on the way to Sellia, the City of Sorcery. Exhaust his dialogue about the Pure Gold Needle he’s looking for, then you’ll head to the nearest exchange to get it.

Defeat Commander O’Neill

To get the Pure Golden Needle, you need to kill Commander O’Neill in the swamp west of Gauri’s hut. It won’t be an easy fight, but you can check out our tips on how to beat him to make things a little easier. Once he is dead and you have the Pure Golden Needle in your hands, you are ready to return to Gauri.

Visit Gauri Twice

Go back to Gauri and exhaust his dialogue one more time, then quickly get to the nearest Place of Grace and run towards him again. After that, he will give you a repaired needle and tell you about the secrets of Sellia, the City of Magic. You will then travel to the Church of the Plague to find Millicent and officially start her questline.

Speak with Millicent in the Church of the Plague.

To get to the Church of the Plague, you need to fight your way through Sellia, the City of Enchantment, lighting all the braziers and defeating the local boss. If you managed to teleport to the Animal Sanctuary at some point earlier in the game, you can also quickly get to this place of grace and head south to get to the church.

Once there, you will find Millicent. Give her the needle and then rest at the nearby Place of Grace to reset her dialogue. After talking to her enough, she will eventually give you the Prosthetic Bearer family heirloom talisman and you will complete the first part of her quest. To continue, you need to return to Gauri’s Hut once more.

Return to Gauri’s hut one more time

The next time you visit Gauri’s Shack, you will find that Millicent has already appeared and has something to talk about. Exhausting her dialogue, quickly leave, then return to the shack to see Gauri has returned. Exhaust his dialogue as well and you’ll end the Caelian segment of Millicent’s story.

Find the Valkyrie’s prosthetic in the shadowed castle.

To continue the Millicent quest chain, you first need to visit the Shadowed Castle, which is located far to the north between Mount Gelmir and the Altus Plateau. Fight your way through the area until you find a small room guarded by a Pure Rot Knight. Inside the room, you will find a Valkyrie Prosthetic that will allow you to continue Millicent’s dialogue in her new Altus Plateau location.

Speak with Millicent at the Altus Plateau.

Head to Erdtree Geising Hill on the Altus Plateau and find Millicent just north of where you spawn. Give her the Valkyrie Prosthetic, exhaust her dialogue. Then you’ll head north again to defeat both the boss and talk to Millicent one more time.

Travel to the Windmill Village and defeat the Skin of the Gods Apostle.

In the northern part of the Altus Plateau is Windmill Village, which is an area that has a fairly basic gauntlet of creepy enemies and an Apostle of Godhead boss at the top. Divine Apostle is a tough fight for lower level characters, but shouldn’t be a long-term problem once you memorize his attack patterns.

Once the Divine Skin Apostle falls, rest at the nearest Grace Spot. When you get up again, you’ll find Millicent standing next to another dialogue that needs to be exhausted. Do this, then you will complete the part of her quest that takes place on the Altus Plateau. You won’t find her again until you find your way to the Mountaintops of the Giants late game area.

Speak with Millicent at the top of the giant mountains.

At the end of the main story, you will gain access to the Giant Summits. Millicent can be found near Snow Valley Ruins, a place of grace in this biome. She has a lot to say, so exhaust all her dialogue and then get ready to collect the two medallion halves needed to reach the Haligtri area.

Find both halves of the Haligtri medallion.

Part of the Haligtree medallion can be found on top of Castle Sol after defeating Commander Niall in the northeast of the Mountain Tops of the Giants. The other one requires you to get into a strange pot located in the village of Albinavrix in the south of Liurnia of the Lakes. When you do, you will discover that the pot was just a disguise for a decrepit old man who will give you the other half of the locket.

Go to Haligtri

When you have both halves, you will receive a complete Haligtri medallion. You can use this medallion on Rold’s Grand Elevator – the same elevator that took you to the first part of the Giant’s Peaks – to descend into the new cold area of the biome.

Ordina, Laturgical city
Ordina, Liturgical city

Head north of this new section and solve the relatively easy puzzle in Ordina, the Liturgical City (it’s very similar to how you completed Sellia, the City of Sorcery). You will soon find your way to Haligtri.

Talk to Millicent in the Prayer Room.

As you explore the Haligtree, you will eventually come to the Prayer Room. There will be Millicent next to the Site of Grace, so talk to her and once again exhaust all her dialogue. It will stay there until you complete the next step. You almost did!

Defeat the Wounded Tree Spirit near the Drainage Channel.

A little further into Haligtree, you’ll encounter one of the nasty Corrupted Tree Spirit bosses that everyone loves to hate. This monster will be very difficult due to the combat taking place in the pond, which will apply the Crimson Rot status effect on you. If possible, fight him from a distance using the outer banks.

Once the Flawed Tree Spirit is dead, rest at the Drainage Channel’s Grace Site and prepare for the next fight soon.

Go back to where you killed the Flawed Tree Spirit.

Go back to where you just killed the Flawed Tree Spirit to find a Yellow Summon Sign and a Red Summon Sign. The former allows you to help Millicent fight off the invaders in her world, while the latter allows you to kill her.

If you decide to kill her, you will receive the Millicent Prosthetic Talisman, which will slightly increase your agility and damage from subsequent attacks. But in most cases, you need to select the yellow call sign to help her fend off an ambush.

Kill the invaders

Select the yellow challenge sign and help Millicent in a difficult fight against four NPC invaders. At first glance, it might seem like it’s best to try and tank one or two and let her deal with the rest, but she’ll actually die pretty quickly if you do. Instead, help her fight her targets and keep applying pressure until all four invaders are eliminated. For your efforts, you will receive a talisman – Insignia of the Rotten Winged Sword, which will increase your attacks with successive strikes.

Return to Millicent twice to complete the quest.

After you leave Millicent’s world, rest again in the Drainage Canal’s Grace Zone, then return to where you just fought the invaders to find Millicent. Exhaust her dialogue, rest one more time, then come back one last time and find her dead. For robbing her body, you will receive a Pure Golden Needle. You can use the needle on the flower that spawns in the Malenia boss fight room after you defeat it to get the Needle of Mikella, an important item that can be used at a specific location at the very end of the game to change the ending of Raging Flame. you chose to do so.
