Elden Ring Surpasses Half A Million Players During First Day On Steam
The start of Elden Ring is quite strong. Steam. The new open-world adventure RPG from Developer From Software peaked at 672,351 concurrent players on its first day alone, placing it right behind Lost Ark (which, at the time of this writing, stands at 691,723 players).
It’s even more impressive when you see what kind of games Elden Ring is up against. The current Steam top 10 also includes Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Destiny 2, Apex Legends, Rust, Team Fortress 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and MIR4.
It’s not often that a single-player-focused game outperforms so many online multiplayer games. Although, to be honest, Elden Ring is not your traditional game – it has received critical acclaim from several publications.
In GameSpot’s review of Elden Ring, Tamur Hussain writes, “Elden Ring takes the pieces of what came before and turns them into something that will go down in history as one of the greatest achievements of all time: a triumph in design and creativity, as well as an open, is a world game that differs not so much in what it does, but in what it does.”
