Elden Ring: Where To Find The Icerind Hatchet

Finding all the weapons in Elden Ring is half the fun, but finding the right one for you can take some time. If you’re looking for a frost build where you create a frost status effect on your enemies to reduce their damage absorption and stamina, you might want to take a look at Icerind’s Axe. Don’t worry as we will tell you exactly where you can collect it.

Ice ax explained

The Ice Ax is an ax that requires 11 strengths and 16 Dexterity. This is a great option for those working on a frost build, as it builds up a status effect on enemies fairly quickly.

Ax Weapon Skill is a powerful AOE attack called Hoarfrost Stomp. When used, it leaves a trail of ice fog in front of your character, which enhances the effect of the ice status. Combining it with regular weapon swings will quickly help you apply the effect.

The item description for Icerind Hatchet reads:

An ax with a frosted blade. The blade, known as “icy mist”, is thought to be dragon scales. Inflicts a powerful cold effect. One of several gifts given by Sol Castle in the far north.

Where to find Ice Ax

The Ice Hatchet is found in the Temple Quarter in Liurnia of the Lakes, making it fairly easy to round it up relatively early in the game. Just teleport to the nearest Place of Grace you can find and head to that area.

temple quarter

If you approach the Temple Quarter from the south, you will find many ruined buildings to explore. Among the rubble you will find a chest with an Icerind ax. Once you’ve grabbed it, you’re all set to start stomping and freezing your enemies in style.
