Final Fantasy’s 35th Anniversary Website Hints At New Projects
On December 18, 1987, the world of role-playing games changed forever. The first Final Fantasy launched in Japan on the Famicom, and in 2022, the franchise has become one of the world’s most popular video game series.
We’re fast approaching the franchise’s 35th anniversary, so naturally, Square Enix launched a website to celebrate, complete with a very luxurious logo designed by Yoshitaka Amano.
It is not much interesting now, but there is a center for all the news related to the anniversary. There are only two games under this slogan – the upcoming chaos-killing game. Stranger from Heaven Final Fantasy Origin and, at the very opposite end of the spectrum, the adorable and colorful Chocobo GP, which you can pick up very soon!
There is also a message from Remake of Final Fantasy VII produced by Yoshinori Kitase (who also directed Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, the original Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, and more):
V=30, VII=25, XI=20
What do you think these numbers mean?
It’s the anniversary of the FINAL FANTASY games this year. Several titles celebrate their anniversaries each year, but when you think about it, it’s pretty unusual for so many from the same series to line up this way.
This is only possible through the continued passionate support of every game in the FF series. Many thanks.
And this year, the FINAL FANTASY series itself turns 35 years old.
We will continue to work hard to ensure that each FINAL FANTASY game is memorable.
The FF 35th website will support new releases share information about upcoming games and merchandise. I hope you’re excited about what’s in store for you in FINAL FANTASY!
Final Fantasy VII also received a shiny new logo for its 25th anniversary. But Final Fantasy V and MMORPG Final Fantasy XI Plus, significant anniversaries this year make us feel old! I hope they get some love this year too.
Maybe we’ll get those Pixels to remaster from on Switch this year? We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate.
In the meantime, if you’re looking to celebrate Final Fantasy. There’s probably no better way to do so this weekend than by exploring the Chocobo GP. Most recently, we reviewed the game and called it “one of the most accomplished and fun kart racing games currently available on Switch.” There is also a free “demo” version, so you don’t have to shell out for this kart racer before taking it for a test drive.
What are your fondest gaming memories? What would you like to see in honor of the 35th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series? Let us know about it in the comments.
