First Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus Show Trailer Resurrects The Best Thing About The Phantom Menace
Want to know how close the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series is on Disney+? The first full trailer for the Star Wars show has arrived, and it reveals a lot. We see the life of Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) on Tatooine, living Inquisitors and the hunt for surviving Jedi.
“The fight is over,” Obi-Wan says as he opens the trailer. “We lost.” It is at this point that we see Obi-Wan watching over young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine and the return of something magnificent. Whatever you say about Star Wars. Episode I: The Phantom Menace, but “Duel of the Fates” – the film’s climactic piece of music – is one of the most wonderfully crafted pieces of music in the entire franchise. . And thankfully, that plays a huge role in this trailer.
As the tension in the song builds, we see the hunt for the Jedi grow as Obi-Wan tries to stay hidden on Tatooine. We’re also seeing the first full look at the Inquisitors in real time. The Force-sensitive beings were tasked with hunting down the remaining Jedi and made their first debut in the Star Wars Rebels animated series.
What we don’t see is a glimpse of Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), who by this point in the Star Wars timeline should have been Darth Vader as the series takes place after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
However, there’s still time to get to that before Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on May 25 on Disney+.
