Getting Arceus In Pokémon BDSP Requires A Pokémon Legends Save
Fifteen years after their original release, it will finally be possible to get your hands on Arceus. Pokémon Diamond as well as Pearl through an update that came to diamond/shining pearl remakes. But you will need Pokémon Legends: Arceus to do this.
Beginning March 16, players who complete Pokemon BDSP and meet certain requirements, will receive the Azure Flute and will be able to travel to the Pillar of the Spear to meet with Arceus. What are the special requirements? They will also need a save file from Pokémon Legends: Arceus on which they completed the main game. This will cause the Azure Flute to become available if players have also defeated the Elite Four and earned the National Pokédex in BDSP.
The Mythical Pokémon Darkrai is also being added to the remakes as a limited-time Mystery Gift event that will be available throughout April. The only requirement is that BDSP players have already completed the Cresselia event and gained access to the Hall of Fame. After that, they can travel to Darkmoon Island and find Darkrai.
Arceus’s approach to BDSP is significant because despite being the creator of the Sinnoh region and one of the most powerful Pokémon, it could not be caught in the original games. Instead, Arceus was given directly to players as part of a promotional campaign for the film in 2009 Pokémon: Arceus and the Pearl of Life. Meanwhile, the Azure Flute remained in Diamond as well as Pearl files, but can only be used through cheats. Players who missed the Arceus event could still get it, but only by hacking the game.
