Gigabyte’s excellent 144Hz 1440p gaming monitor is on sale globally this time

If you’re looking for a Freesync beast, one of our favorites, the Gigabyte G27Q 27″ Gaming Monitor is back on sale on Newegg for a very nice price on Black Friday. $260, £267as well as 439 Australian dollars — although shipping to Australia makes it a bit unfeasible so it’s worth checking your local area as well.

That’s less than US$330 MSRP in the international market. This US discount includes a $20 rebate, but even paying $280 for one of the best monitors you can get in your price range is a pretty good deal.

In our review, the main complaint about this monitor was simply its bland design, so if you’re okay with a monitor that isn’t very bright, there aren’t many downsides to these screens.

The Gigabyte G27Q 27-inch is a 2460 x 1440 screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR400. It supports premium AMD FreeSync and even beats our favorite FreeSync gaming monitor in its price range..

But that doesn’t mean you have to rush.

We saw it on Black Friday and once even before that in July. There is every chance that this will happen again, or as new devices become available, price cuts may become more permanent. Either way, this is a great price for a great monitor right now. So if you are in the market, this is worth a look.

For those who aren’t looking for bargains and prefer new monitor technology, the future looks bright. Corsair launches its first gaming monitor, and Samsung showed off the world’s first 4K 240Hz gaming monitor just before CES. In addition, new flexible OLED displays are being developed that can be 3D printed, which could make the manufacturing process much cheaper and easier.
