Nicolas Cage Is “Down For Egghead” In Batman Sequel

Actor Nicolas Cage may have bolstered the possibility of seeing a Batman

Sequel by mentioning in an interview on SXSW that he wants to go up against the Caped Crusader as Egghead, a character that appeared in the 1960s Batman TV series. local news channel Fox 7 Austin recently spoke to Cage in connection with his upcoming film, The Unbearable Weight of Enormous Talent. “We have a new [movie with] Robert Pattinson as Batman, which I am very happy to see. I haven’t seen it yet, but I think it would be amazing,” Cage said. “The villain that Vincent Price played on the 60s show, Egghead, I think I want to try Egghead. I think I can make it absolutely terrifying. And I have the concept of Egghead. So let Warner Bros. know what kind of Egghead I am.”

Like Calendar Man, Egghead – and his countless egg-related puns and egg-wielding contraptions – have earned their rightful place among the worst villains to grace the Batman franchise over the decades. However, and it really doesn’t need to be said, if one can redeem and reimagine it in a worthy way, perhaps that would be a task that only Cage could accomplish. The utter metaphor “The Unbearable Weight of Enormous Talent”, which depicts Cage as an enhanced version of himself recruited by the CIA to assassinate a drug lord/his biggest fan, is due in theaters on April 22.

The premiere of “Batman” took place on March 3. You can read our review and many critiques of the superhero movie here.
