Nintendo Physical Game Sales Made Up 47% Of All UK Retail Game Sales In 2021

While digital game sales are growing year on year, Nintendo is still the leader in physical media. And that’s reflected in the 2021 sales charts, as Big N accounted for 47% of physical game media sales last year.

Games such as FIFA 22 and Grand Theft Auto V saw a big piece of the digital pie in 2021, but others like the whole Call of Duty series saw their digital shares drop.

Nintendo doesn’t currently share its digital sales, but its results are generally unremarkable, even if the numbers may hide a digital sales plateau.

Last year’s UK sales, shown below, show some familiar faces, as well as a few big-numbered new releases from Nintendo.
