Perfect Dark Game Director Dan Neuburger Seemingly Leaves The Initiative

Perfect Dark director Dan Neuburger left The Initiative after nearly four years with the company.

According to VGK, ResetERA User Klobrille noticed Neuburger’s LinkedIn profile change..The same studio teamed up with The Initiative to help finalize the Perfect Dark reboot.

This is not the first high-level departure from The Initiative. The company’s former design director Drew Murray announced that he is leaving the company in February 2021 and returning to his old studio, Insomniac Games.

Perfect Dark was unveiled at The Game Awards 2020 and is set to be an “eco-sci-fi” first-person shooter that “aims to create a secret agent thriller set in the world of the near future.”

The Initiative itself was announced at E3 2018 as Microsoft’s first-ever “AAAA” studio, which “will challenge itself to do new (and old) things in a new way.”

Perfect Dark, the franchise that started on the N64 in 2000, does not have a release date.
