Tapu Koko Raid Schedule
Tapu Koko enters the five-star raid ring starting at 10:00 local time on March 1st and stays there until 20:00 on March 15th. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t follow a set schedule with his raid – there’s no guarantee that Tapu Koko will be waiting for him. you – but the game keeps telling you who’s about to raid, so just keep an eye out.
However, there is one hope for those who need a Regirock look: the weekly Pokemon Go Raid Hour on Wednesday night. The Raid Hour event over the next two weeks – March 2 and March 9 from 18:00 to 19:00 local time – Land Spirit Pokémon will be featured in almost every gym in the game. If you want a guaranteed stop at Tapu Koko, gather your friends and hit the road after Wednesday night dinner.
Tapu Koko Weaknesses and Opposition
Tapu Koko is an Electric and Fairy-type Pokémon, a unique dual type that it only shares with Dedenne from the Kalos region. The resistances of the two separate types negate most of their weaknesses, but there are two types that deal extra damage to Tapu Koko: Ground and Poison.
Landorus, Garchomp, and Excadrill will be huge assets in a Tapu Koko raid, and moves like Earthquake and Earth Force deal massive damage. Groudon is also a great option if you have Hoenn Legendary in your arsenal. If you prefer the poison type, Roserade’s dual grass/poison type not only gives you Poison-type attack options, but the grass-type resists electrical moves, offering an additional defense option. Mega Venusaur – This month’s Mega Raid – will fit here too.
Types to Avoid
Electric and Fairy-type Tapu Koko has built-in resistance to six different types of Pokémon that you should avoid in a raid. Dragon types are the most affected, as Tapu Koko has double the resistance to Dragon moves thanks to the Fairy type. The movements of the bugs, darkness and fights are also opposed by the Tapu Koko Fairy side, while the movements of the electric and flying types are resisted by his electric typing. Once you’ve caught a Land Spirit Pokémon for yourself, take it out for a few rounds in the Go Battle League as you prepare for the next Sandshrew Community Day.
