Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet Announced for Late 2022

The Pokemon Company has announced that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, a brand new open-world Pokemon adventure, will be released on Nintendo Switch at the end of 2022. Announced during pokemon gifts for pokemon day 2022, these two new games developed by Game Freak will have a new region and three of its starting elements have already been revealed. At the start of the game, trainers will need to choose between Sprigatito the grass cat; Fuecoco the fire crocodile, or Quaxly the water duck.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are an “evolutionary” step for the Pokemon franchise and feature “an open world where various borderless cities seamlessly transition into the wilderness.” The Pokemon Company also notes that “Pokemon can be seen everywhere in this wide-open world – in the sky, in the sea and on the streets.”

While we obviously don’t see all the differences between the two versions, it was found that coaches “will have different gear depending on what game they’re playing.”

Grass Cat Sprigatito has the ability to “Outgrow”, and its description states that they are “naughty” and “get attention”. The fire crocodile Fuekoko has the ability “Flame”, he is “laid-back” and “does everything at his own pace”. Water Duck Quaxley has the “Flow” ability and is “serious and neat”.
