Super Fantasy Zone Leads Three New Sega Genesis Games For Nintendo Switch Online
Super Fantasy Zone, Alien Soldier, and Light Crusader have been added to the Sega Genesis Library for Nintendo Switch Online. Super Fantasy Zone is a shooter game where players fight the evil Dark Menon as they seek to avenge their father. The games are now available to all users with a Switch Online membership. Its Expansion Pass, which adds access to N64 and Sega Genesis games. IGN said that the 2008 Virtual Console re-release was significant “because the game is fun to play and fun to watch. Great music, great colors, great controls.”
Alien Soldier puts you in the shoes. You guessed it—an unknown soldier who must defeat 25 bosses in this side-scrolling game. Reviewing Virtual Console 8/10, IGN said, “Alien Soldier is a long-lost piece of Treasure’s legacy in the action game genre. It has the rate of fire, high energy, overly explosive intensity that company fans have come to expect. .”
The third and final new Genesis game, Light Crusader, was rated 6/10 by IGN on Virtual Console. This role-playing game “lacks depth and is certainly home to a fair and playable isometric adventure” but is just “bland” overall.
The Switch Online Expansion Pass now includes 23 Sega Genesis games. Including classics such as Altered Beast, Castlevania: Bloodlines, and Golden Axe.
EARLIER THIS MONTH, I added F-Zero X to the N64 collection. I was joining The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask and 11 other N64 games available on the platform.
The Expansion Pass also provides access to DLC for Nintendo games. Including Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Happy Home Paradise and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass doubles the number of tracks available in the game from 48 to 96.
