The DioField Chronicle Is a New Strategy RPG From Square Enix

Square Enix announced a new game called The DioField Chronicle during the PlayStation State of Play. It will come in 2022. This tactical RPG brings a fully realized 3D approach to the classic strategy genre. The new video showed turn-based combat strategies in a fantasy world with 3D animation. The DioField Chronicle is set on a fantasy continent and tells of a war between the Trovelt-Sheva Empire and the Rowtail Alliance. However, the lone kingdom of Allethane is sandwiched between these two warring powers.

Then a group of heroes must defend their land from the Empire. Expect some geopolitics on the side of your tactical RPG.

According to PlayStation, The DioField Chronicle uses a real-time tactical combat system, and the development team includes character designer Taiki (Lord of Vermillion 3), Kamikokurio Isamu (FF12, 13), and sound designers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell (Game of Thrones). ).

Combat seems to rely heavily on the element of strategy as units move across the battlefield. But 3D animated features bring the gameplay to life, and huge elements such as giant flying dragons can be seen hovering over the battlefield and spewing fire at players and enemies.

This new franchise fits many of Square Enix’s tactical RPGs, but the modern take is undoubtedly enticing. DioField Chronicle is scheduled to release in 2022 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
