The Walking Dead is getting another new spinoff for AMC Plus
Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will play in the new Walking Dead spin-off. The dead island was announced on Monday by the AMC channel. The show, expected to air in 2023, will focus on Cohen. And Morgan’s respective characters, Maggie and Negan. They travel to Manhattan, which has since been “cut off from the mainland.”
“The crumbling city is filled with the dead and residents who have turned New York into their world, full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and horror,” AMC said in a press release. It will premiere on both AMC and AMC Plus, with the first season spanning six episodes.
Walking corpses writer and co-executive producer Eli Girone will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Walking corpses Content director, Scott M. Gimple will oversee the show, with Cohan and Morgan serving as executive producers. In the preview, the teasing show Dead island seems to be calling walking corpses first episode to have the same title as the sign on the door: “Do not open, dead inside.” (Or is it “Do not fully open inside?” Your guess is as good as mine.)
Journey
“I’m glad Negan and Maggie’s journey continues. It’s been such a ride in Negan’s shoes, and I’m thrilled to continue his journey. In New York with Lauren,” Morgan said in a statement. “Walkers in urban environments have always been this excellent way, but 5th Avenue, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty? The most fantastic city in the world??
If you’ve lost count of how many walking corpses there are spin-offs, you are not alone. Fear the walking dead is currently in its seventh season, and a limited series titled The Walking Dead: World Beyond is already over. Tales of the Walking Dead, an anthology series, is currently in development along with spin-off Carol & Daryl starring Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride. Andrew Lincoln will also star in three films as Rick Grimes.
The final season walking corpses — its 11th season — will run until the end of March.
