Valkyrie Elysium Announced From Square Enix
During the Sony State of Play, a new RPG from Square Enix was announced called Valkyrie Elysium. A new entry in the Valkyrie series that started with Valkyrie Profile in 1999. It will release on PS5 and PS4 sometime in 2022. Valkyrie Elysium was revealed with a gameplay trailer that showcased some exploration. And combat in the fantasy world, as well as a few teasers of what its story might entail. Post on PlayStation Blog explains that “The Valkyrie series depicts the end of humanity and their encounter with the gods in a unique world inspired by Norse mythology.”
It doesn’t look like Valkyrie Elysium will be directly related to other Valkyrie games. As the same blog post describes it as “an entirely new standalone adventure. The latest entry in the Valkyrie series was a mobile game called Valkyrie Anatomia. The Origin initially released in Japan in 2016 before heading to the West in 2019.
A few other details that have already been released were that Valkyrie Elysium would be bringing back a recruitable series of warriors named Einherjar. And composer Motoi Sakuraba to create the soundtrack. Additionally, the game has been confirmed to run at 4K and 60fps on the PlayStation 5.
