Watch the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer, the next big Star Wars show

Obi-Wan Kenobi may have spent quite a few years in the deserts of Tatooine, but it turns out taking care of little Luke isn’t the only thing he’s been doing between Revenge of the Sith as well as New Hope. In the first trailer for Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Jedi┬áMaster Ewan McGregor watches over young Luke Skywalker, fighting the empire as best he can.

The trailer includes a few glimpses of Obi-Wan’s life on Tatooine but focuses more on his new missions as protector of the Skywalker children. The trailer doesn’t go into much detail, but as Obi-Wan departs the world, the Sith Inquisitors – Force-sensitive Imperial Jedi hunters who also fight with lightsabers – are on his heels, and the action follows. We hear Darth Vader breathing… perhaps from Hayden Christensen, who returns as Anakin Skywalker.

Along with McGregor and Christensen, Obi-Wan Kenobi will also feature several new actors from the Star Wars universe such as Kumail Nanjiani, Benny Safdie, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Sung Kang. The series will also see the return of Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Pisse as Owen and Beru Lars, their roles from the prequel films.
