Where to get Smithing Stones in Elden Ring

Wondering where to get blacksmith stones in Elden Ring? The Lands Between can get more difficult as you move into new regions, as bosses and even low-level enemies gain a lot more health. The best way to overcome this, aside from leveling up, is to upgrade your weapons. These upgrades are separate from the Elden Ring Ashes of War and require you to use blacksmithing stones for each upgrade. So where can you find these stones? In this guide, I’ll walk you through where to get them, what are good farming spots, and how to find vendors in the later game that will let you buy higher rarity options so you can hit like a hammer.

Locations where Elden Ring Smithing Stones are grown

While you can get them everywhere, the best early game location is Limgrave Tunnels Dungeon in West Limgrave, as the enemy miners drop them there. However, they are quite capacious.

In the later game, once you get to West Liuria, you can Buy Gloomy Blacksmith Stones from Blacksmith Iji on the way to Karia Manor. He is friendly and will even warn you before entering the estate, which is good advice for any sane person. You can use Iji as a blacksmith, or return to the always reliable Master Blacksmith Hyuuga in the Round Table Fortress.

Where to find Gloomy Stone Miner’s Bell Bearings in Elden Ring

Even later in the game, you can get Miner’s Grimstone Bell Bearings, which will unlock the ability to buy Grim Forging Stones from the Twin Maiden Shells in Round Table Keep. You can find one of them near the First Church of Marika in the West Giant Summits later in the game. There are more of them scattered around the world, so keep your eyes peeled.

Finally, killing Scarabs, the invisible enemies of Elden Ring can give you some of the rarer Smithing Stones, and you’ll find plenty of them atop the Giant Mountains and other places throughout the In-between world.
